BIRMINGHAM, AL- Birmingham City Councilor William Parker will honor the late Council President Maxine Herring Parker at the Vehicle/Pedestrian Bridge Dedication Friday May 30, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Maclin Park, 2701 FL Shuttlesworth Drive.
“It is important for our constituents to know that their concerns are our concerns,” said Councilor Parker. “The dedication of this bridge serves as a reminder to keep our paths open for change.” Councilor Parker’s efforts continue to resonate with the citizens of District 4 who support his charge to keep revitalization moving forward.
“I believe this bridge is one of the many solutions that our communities need,” Councilor Parker said. “Our citizens deserve to have practical vehicle and pedestrian friendly bridges.”
The bridge construction will begin this summer, and it is one attempt to address the inconvenience of trains that travel through the Collegeville community.
