BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Summer time is heating up with some really cool events from the Birmingham City Council. Kicking off one tier of excitement is Councilor Marcus Lundy, Jr. of District 9, along with REV Birmingham and HOT 107.7 FM as they proudly host Summer Jams. This free, three-part concert and outdoor festival series will highlight the heritage and revitalization efforts of Ensley, North Birmingham and Pratt City neighborhoods.

“It is time to see these communities as vibrant, safe and viable centers to be enjoyed,” Councilor Lundy said. “Summer Jams is a fun, family-friendly event that will allow us to re-envision the opportunities that exist within these areas.”

The first installment of this series will take place Saturday, June 14th from 5-8 pm. at Avenue F and 19th Street Ensley. Nationally renowned neo-soul artist Algebra Blessett will headline the first concert. In addition to hearing live music, attendees will also
have an opportunity to view the premier of Ensley Stories, a collection of video and photo testimonies from residents, business owners and community supporters.

Remaining 2014 Summer Jam Events include:
North Birmingham | July 2014
