BIRMINGHAM, AL-With area schools back in session and families desiring to enjoy one last summer blast, Birmingham’s eastern area Music and Movie Festival promises to seal the season with its FINAL presentation. The event is FREE and open to the general public. With a usual crowd of more than 1,200 eager residents in attendance, this fun-filled community program has grown from an annual anxiously awaited event to a summer series!
Councilor Scales believes quality of life issues should always be the focal point of any progressive city. “The goal of the Music and Movie festivals is to create a quality of life that allows residents to enjoy world class cultural events in the community where they live which is very important for the sustainability of local neighborhoods,” said Councilwoman Lashunda Scales, the event’s host and organizer.
The FINAL Music and Movie Festival features Latin Pop Star, SEICH, Mariachi Garibaldi Band, Jazz Saxophonist James Crumb, Jr. and N’Fusion Band, LOGAN the Entertainer, WATER SLIDES, a SHORT film at sunset and a Birmingham Zoo Exhibit. Residents are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, picnic baskets, blankets and a great attitude!
