Birmingham, Ala. — Councilwoman Sheila Tyson (District 6) will host a live Telephone Town Hall Meeting Aug. 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Call participants will receive an update on current District 6 projects, followed by a question and answer segment with Councilor Tyson. Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper, and Stephen Fancher, Director of Public Works for the City of Birmingham, will also be on the call to answer questions about public safety and public works.
“One of my campaign promises was to keep my constituents informed about what’s going on at City Hall. I take that commitment very seriously,” said Councilor Tyson. “Many of my residents don’t have transportation, so they are unable to attend council meetings or neighborhood meetings. I hope this telephonic town hall will give more of my constituents an opportunity to voice their opinions.”
Nearly 7,000 District 6 voters will receive a phone call reminder this evening, and another phone call 3 minutes before the town hall begins tomorrow evening. While District 6 residents will be given preference during the Q & A portion of the telephonic town hall, ALL BIRMINGHAM RESIDENTS ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE BY DIALING (205) 490-8883.
