Building a Better Birmingham

webtabEconomic development Committee Chair Councilor Marcus Lundy wants to help grow the local workforce. He is partnering with a little known, but well run program-Construction Education Foundation Alabama (CEFA). Councilor Lundy is the chair of the economic development committee and sees this partnership as a way to train local people and then put them to work in our community. In conjunction with Jefferson County Office of Workforce Development and the Department of Labor, CEFA will offer a Nationally Recognized Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship class for qualified 18-21 year olds. CEFA is a training organization created and founded by the three leading construction associations in the state; Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Associated General Contractors (AGC) and the Alabama Concrete Industries Association (ACIA). These organizations and companies support the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) based training provided by CEFA. For ore information WATCH THIS VIDEO.
