Open container ordinance approved for Birmingham’s Uptown District
Birmingham is hoping to help boost tourism dollars by allowing visitors the opportunity to carry an alcoholic beverage from venue to venue. As part of this new open container ordinance, customers will be supplied designated cups for alcohol as they walk around the Uptown district. Acceptable areas for open containers will include the park across from the Westin Hotel, the restaurants, the area in front of the BJCC and in front of the Sheraton Hotel.
