Birmingham will be the first city in North America to incorporate electric-assist bikes into its bike-share fleet this fall. Giving riders a boost, of the 400 available, 100 bikes will be equipped with battery power and can be charged at 40 stations around the city. For those seeking some better exercise, the other 300 launching in the fall will take leg power.
