Council Pro Tem Jay Roberson Continues to Give Back During the “District 7 Back to School Shoe Distribution”

BIRMINGHAM, AL- Christmas for some children may arrive a bit early. This time the celebration won’t include toys and gadgets, but instead will be centered on children having the gear that they need just in time for school. In partnership with Samaritan’s Feet Inc. A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club Council President Pro Tem Roberson is presenting the “District 7 Back to School Shoe Distribution” today from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club located at 2900 S Park Drive SW, Birmingham, AL 35211.
“We as citizens must continue to invest in our children as they move forward in education,” “Councilor Roberson said. “Our yearly shoe distribution is merely a consistent effort to keep the community involved in serving to meet our children’s needs. We have to keep them as our focus as we build and sustain communities.”

Samaritan’s Feet, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based out of Charlotte NC who partners with community initiatives to distribute shoes to children within the United States and around the world. Council Pro Tem Roberson has worked extensively with Samaritan’s Feet over the last five years, distributing over 10,000 pair of shoes in the greater Birmingham area.
