PR News Announces 2015 Platinum PR Awards and Agency Elite Awards Finalists
Rockville, Md., August 25, 2015— The City Council’s Public Information Office has been named a finalist in PR News’ Platinum PR Awards program in the Public Affairs category. The finalists of the Platinum PR Awards set industry standards for excellence across all areas of PR. Finalists are from corporations, agencies and nonprofits—both large and small—that took chances, made tremendous strides in their communications efforts and understand the power of public relations. PR News will be honoring top PR initiatives in more than 40 categories—ranging from anniversary campaign and crisis management to social media and word of mouth along with the leading organizations in the industry—at its benchmark-setting Platinum and Agency Elite Awards Luncheon on October 26, 2015, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. The Agency Elite Awards finalists will also be recognized at the event for paving the way in the PR agency sector.
“As public information officers for the City Council we are continuously striving to successfully showcase the Council’s transparency as it relates to the relationship between each Councilor and their district, as well as their corporate citizens,” said Brittany Sharp, Director of Public Information for the City Council. “We are looking forward to continuing that transparency by sharing the Council’s message through new and innovative broadcast measures.”
