BIRMINGHAM, AL– Honoring our former leaders is a task that Birmingham City Councilor Steven Hoyt has always been adamant about. Their leadership has paved the way for the Birmingham that we get to experience everyday, and today their work will be recognized. An Appreciation-Unveiling Ceremony will honor three former leaders for their service to District 8, which led to the community being recognized locally by the City of Birmingham, and nationally by Neighborhoods USA (NUSA). The event will take place TODAY at the Five Points West Library located at 4812 Avenue W, Birmingham, AL 35208.

“The group of outstanding leaders that will be honored today, goes to show you how much talent that we have in District 8, “ Councilor Hoyt said. “Mrs. Alma Dennis and Mrs. Rozelle Reynolds served simultaneously as president and vice-president for over 20 years.  These ladies leadership along with Mr. Cornwallis Hudson, who was the former Fairview president for over 10 years, all made some significant contributions to the community.  At this ceremony, we will highlight the impact that their contributions have had on our district.”
