BIRMINGHAM, AL – Its one thing to be a star athlete, but it’s even more impressive when you are excelling both on and off the field. That’s exactly what basketball star Zikiria Williams is doing, and tonight her hard work will be recognized. Councilor Marcus Lundy who serves as the Councilor for the district in which J.O. resides, will join Zikiria at the Jackson-Olin vs. Parker High school game to present her with an award for scoring 1,000 points during her time at J.0. A junior in high school, Councilor Lundy said this accomplishment gives people a glimpse of how focused she is, and what her future holds.

“It is always encouraging when you hear of stories like Zikiria’s. This young lady is making strides both in the classroom and in her athletic ventures and I could not be more proud of the example that she is setting for her peers,” Councilor Lundy said. “I am looking forward to watching her continue to grow and excel at the next level.
