Announcement Made Concerning Funding for District 7 Following Christmas Tornadoes
After months of anticipation Hillman Community will now receive the assistance its been waiting for. City leaders announced this week that $800,000 in grant money is now available for citizens whose homes were damaged or destroyed by last year’s Christmas Day storms. Each eligible resident will receive an initial amount of $10,000 for roofing repairs to their homes and then transitions will be made to interior repairs. City leaders say the money from this grant was redirected from the city’s Community Development Block Grant to address the issues in the area.
