BIRMINGHAM, AL – I Just in time for the Father’s Day weekend, Birmingham City Councilor Steven Hoyt is inviting the public to join him in celebrating all that fathers and male role models do. The fifth annual “Man Up” breakfast will be held Saturday, June 18th from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Birmingham Crossplex located at 2331 Bessemer Rd, Birmingham, AL 35208. The event is free and open to the public.
“It is my hope that the community will come out and show the city that we as men are dedicated to being great fathers,” Councilor Hoyt said. “Father figures play a pivotal role not just in the life of their own children, but in the lives of everyone that they mentor too.”
The breakfast will not only pay tribute to fathers, but will also recognize both men and women who are active in their communities. A panel of speakers will include community leaders, college and high school students, as well as business executives. In addition to gaining insight from the panel of speakers, attendees will also have the opportunity to network and fellowship with others during this free community event.
