BIRMINGHAM, AL – Councilor Sheila Tyson believes in engaging her constituency, especially when it comes to their quality of life. This Thursday, June 1st at 6pm, Councilor Tyson will join city leaders in a discussion around many tough issues facing District 6; including a discussion about commercial and residential revitalization of inner city neighborhoods, updates on solutions to abandoned properties, and ongoing maintenance of weeds and roads. The town hall meeting will be held at More Than Conquerors Faith Church in the Bethesda Family Life Center.
During the discussion, Councilor Tyson will provide updates on projects in District 6, which will include some common goals and objectives for 2017. “Town hall meetings are the perfect opportunity to get the facts about where we stand as a district with commercial and residential revitalization, housing demolition, crime, and weed abatement,” Councilor Tyson said. “District 6 has a great opportunity to hear how we are progressing, assess what we have accomplished, and contribute to how we will continue to move forward in the future. We are one Birmingham and all of our citizens need the best information from the mayor and the department heads that will lead to meaningful change. As the elected advocate for District 6, it is my role to speak on behalf of my constituents and organize people around their issues.”
