Boutwell Opens Warming Station as Temperatures Drop


As the temperature continue to drop the Boutwell Auditorium will be open for anyone who needs to get out of the cold. Director of the Mayor’s Office of Citizen’s Assistance, Don Lupo reports more than 200 people sought shelter at the Boutwell Monday night.  The shelter will be open from five o’clock tonight through 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Lupo says due to the extreme temperatures expected for Thursday, the shelter will be open Wednesday from 5pm to 10:30am Thursday. The community is being asked to donate cold weather items such as coats, scarves, and gloves. Other supplies like Water, chap stick, toothbrushes & toothpaste, and deodorant are needed.
Dinner and refreshments will be served at the Boutwedll thanks to donations from local churches and residents.
