BIRMINGHAM, AL– Here’s your chance to let your voice be heard! Councilor Sheila Tyson is inviting Titusville residents out to framework plan meeting that will take place Tuesday, March 3, 2015. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and will take place at New Pilgrim Baptist Church, located at 708 Goldwire Place Southwest. The next steps in the City’s Comprehensive Plan are the neighborhood Framework Plans that focus on issues, growth, and development specific to neighborhoods within each community. Residents who attend this meeting will have a chance to give vital input on important issues in their community.
“I am strongly encouraging residents to take part in this meeting, as it will provide a lot of information about the future of the Titusville community,” Councilor Tyson said. “There is such a wealth of rich history in this area, and I’m excited about the continued rejuvenation of the community.”
Birmingham’s Comprehensive Plan was adopted October 2, 2013. The plan will set out a 20-year policy and strategic framework for the City of Birmingham. Guided by an overall vision that embodies the unique personality, culture, and heritage of our community, the planning process will establish a set of goals, policies, strategies, and implementation actions to achieve the plan’s vision for Birmingham’s future. This is the City of Birmingham’s first full comprehensive plan since 1961 and the first comprehensive plan based on a community process.
