BIRMINGHAM, AL- If you live in the Eastern area of Birmingham you may soon have the opportunity to take part in additional transportation services. Two public hearings have been scheduled to look at options for bringing bus rapid transit to the area. Councilor Kim Rafferty, who chairs the Transportation and Communications Committee says that she is pushing for citizens to get involved in these hearings to let their voices be heard on an issue that can have a big impact on their community.
“The opportunity to be able to expand services into areas that are somewhat under served is very exciting, and I am looking forward to doing my part to see this action move forward,” Councilor Rafferty said. “We’ve been looking at viable transportation options for residents in this area for some time now, and I’m glad to see that the conversation has opened up to include feedback from the public.”
