Council presents 2016 budget prioritizing neighborhoods
Birmingham City Councilors say the abandoned Larkway Gardens property in District 6 is a prime example of why community revitalization must be addressed in the 2016 budget. Proposed funding will remove blight, add modern lighting and start infrastructure improvements, but more importantly, it will offer residents a chance to feel safe and be proud of their neighborhoods. The Mayor presented his proposed budget in May. Now, the council has finalized their deliberation and submitted the budget back to the Mayor and it’s ready to be voted on.
