BIRMINGHAM, AL – Neighborhood officers in District 5 will receive a lesson in technology today. Birmingham City Council President Johnathan Austin will host his annual neighborhood officer’s workshop to provide residents with district updates, and to allow officers in each neighborhood the opportunity to share information regarding best practices. Additionally the computer-training component will provide officers with tips on how they can use technology to better serve their neighborhoods. President Austin has always been an advocate for learning the benefits that technology can provide, and he says that this annual workshop is just another way to ensure that residents in District 5 are fully equipped with everything that they need to serve their community.
“There are so many advantages that technology can provide as it relates to staying connected within your community,” President Austin said. “It is my hope that once officers are taught these best practices they can continue passing these tips along to residents to ensure that people are well-informed of initiatives that could affect their community.”
