10 for 10! Education With a Purpose Thrives During 10 Year Mark
As tuition at colleges and universities continue to surge ahead enhancing education opportunities for students in the Birmingham City school district continues to be the focal point for city leaders in Birmingham. Pro Tem Councilor Steven Hoyt continues to be an advocate as he furthers his efforts in providing scholarship funding to students through Education With A Purpose. Originated from his annual Party With A Purpose, Councilor Hoyt launched Education With A Purpose in 2013 to promote academic excellence among youth in the community. Through this initiative, Councilor Hoyt awarded a total of $10,000 to 14 well-deserved students throughout Birmingham city this year.
