Birmingham City Councilor Sheila Tyson to Receive the “Citizen of the Year” Award from Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Alpha Phi Chapter

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Birmingham City Councilor Sheila Tyson always strives to give her community her best effort in order to realize change. With heart, passion and drive to in tow as her motivation, she continues to make a difference and fight for the citizens of Birmingham and surrounding communities. On Sunday November 13th, members of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Alpha Phi Chapter will honor Councilor Tyson for her tremendous contribution in serving by presenting her with the “Citizen of the Year” Award at 4p.m. at Carver High School with guest speaker Rickey Smiley.
Councilor Tyson said she is grateful for the opportunity to receive the “Citizen of the Year Award” and recognizes the impact of pressing toward community transformation. “I’m beyond blessed to serve our citizens and push for them to experience the best quality of life as the forefront of growth in the City of Birmingham,” Councilor Tyson said. “Birmingham is a jewel that I have treasured since I was a child and it is an honor to share this award with our citizens who make all of our efforts worthwhile.”
