Birmingham, AL (AUG. 14, 2018) — The District 1 Music Festival returns this Friday, August 17, 2018 hosted by Birmingham City Councilor Lashunda Scales. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever featuring something for everyone!  The event is FREE and open to the general public.

Every year more than 1,500 residents attend the District 1 Music Festival, which Councilor Scales presents to enhance the quality of life for her constituents and citizens at-large. “Wholesome, inexpensive activities are hard to find when you’re on a limited budget,” said Councilor Lashunda Scales further explaining her motivation.  “With crime amongst our youth at its highest and a struggling economy, it is imperative for City leaders to engage local businesses and organizations in efforts that provide quality experiences for our children while also offering affordable alternative programs for families,” said Councilor Scales.

This is the 9thconsecutive year for the District 1 Music Festival.  The stellar lineup includes the following:

APEX stage featuring

CharleZ and the Purple Love Experience
