Councilor William Parker is offering transportation services for citizens to attend public hearing on Title V air pollution permit

BIRMINGHAM, AL —Councilor William Parker wants to ensure that the citizens in the North Birmingham community have an opportunity for their voices to be heard. On Thursday, November 15, 2018 he will take that opportunity a step further by picking up citizens needing transportation to two public hearings (at 10am and at 7pm) on the draft renewal Title V air pollution permit for ABC Coke held at the Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH), located at 1400 6thAve South.
The JCDH is encouraging comments and input from community members on the draft renewal Title V permit. The permits make sure these industries operate in compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) regulations, which are backed by science and designed to protect public health.
For citizens requiring transportation to the public hearings, Councilor Parker will provide bus service transportation from Bethel Baptist Church, 3200 28thAve. North at 9:00am and at 6:00pm to the Jefferson County Department of Health.
