Birmingham City Council President William Parker announced plans to thank MAX Bus drivers for their commitment to working on the frontlines of COVID-19 pandemic by providing them with a meal on Friday.
“These are essential workers who have continued to serve their community throughout these unprecedented times,” said Parker. “We want to recognize them for providing vital services to our citizens on a daily basis. This is just a small way that we can say thank you.”
“Traditionally, the mission of the 1st Foundation is to provide assistance to the members and family members of Special Operations Forces and Police Special Operations,” said Landon Ash, Executive Director of 1st Foundation. “COVID-19 has taught us that there are many more first responders like doctors, nurses and bus drivers. We are happy to partner with the Birmingham City Council and President William Parker to do something for these heroes.”
Lunch will be provided, starting at 11:30 am on Friday, at the Birmingham Intermodal Facility.
