UPDATE ON COVID-19 TESTING SITES IN BIRMINGHAM

Over the last month, COVID-19 testing across all of Birmingham’s communities has begun to increase thanks to coordinated efforts from city leaders, health officials and faith leaders.

Council President William Parker has called for more accessible locations so that any residents who wish to be tested, regardless of whether or not they are symptomatic, will be able to do so.

“Testing is just one of the major components we’re implementing to overcome this virus,” Parker said. “We also want to continue to educate the public on CDC recommended safety protocols. Any opportunity we get to talk about safety for our community, we should do that. My colleagues and I have been encouraged by the access to zip code data so we can begin to intentionally target the areas that have been hit the hardest by this.”

In the coming weeks, there will be more COVID-19 testing sites throughout the city, in addition to the dedicated site at Legion Field. Here is a list of those sites and times:
