Tomorrow, the Birmingham City Council will be holding a work session to discuss the FY 2021 Budget to outline priorities and highlight changes they would like to see made.
The work session is open to the public but there will be no public speakers — it will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 3 in the Council Chambers.
The meeting will also be live streamed on the Birmingham City Council’s Facebook page and the Council is asking people to watch remotely if possible. There will be strict social-distancing guidelines in place for those who do attend.
On Monday, the Council held a pubic hearing on the budget and heard from members of the public about their thoughts and concerns. Councilor Valerie Abbott, who chairs the Budget and Finance Committee, said, “These work sessions are a chance for the entire Council to sit down and discuss changes we’d like to see, concerns we have, and questions we’d like to ask the Mayor.”
