COUNCIL PRESIDENT PARKER INVITES BIRMINGHAM BLACK NURSES ASSOCIATION TO COUNCIL MEETING TO DISCUSS EDUCATIONAL SERIES

This week, the Birmingham Black Nurses Association will be holding a series of virtual discussions centered around COVID-19.
Council President William Parker has invited to group to speak about the “Reach One Teach One” sessions at Tuesday’s Birmingham City Council meeting.
The daily sessions will feature guest speakers and experts discussing health and safety tips and other COVID-19 related topics.
Here is a schedule for the virtual Reach One Teach One discussions:
Monday, October 12th 4p.m.: Health Care workers perspective on COVID-19 (Speaker: Deborah Thedford-Zimmerman)
- Wednesday, October 14th 2 p.m.: Essential Items for COVID-19 survival plan and kit (Speaker: Victoria Smith)
- Thursday, October 15th 2 p.m.: What is COVID-19? How can I protect myself and others (Speaker: Dr. Cyndi Cortes)
- Saturday, October 17th 11a.m.: Talking to Children about COVID-19 and Pediatric Specific prevention topic (Speaker: Dr. Tedra Smith)

“We have to take every opportunity we have to reach out to people and bring experts in to talk about how they can protect themselves and others from this virus,” President Parker said. “I’m thankful for groups like the Birmingham Black Nurses Association and all the great outreach work they are doing.”
