Tomorrow, Council President William Parker along with community partners and volunteers will be picking up litter in the Inglenook neighborhood from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Volunteer registration and supply pick-up starts at 9:45 a.m. and the staging area is located at the Inglenook Rec Center (4016 37th Ave North). Radio stations 95.7 Jamz and 98.7 Kiss FM will also be on hand as well to assist in the cleanup efforts.
This cleanup is part of the ongoing effort of the Birmingham City Council to improve the quality of life in all of Birmingham’s 99 neighborhoods. There have been weekly cleanups happening for the last several months.
“Neighborhood cleanups are important because it brings the neighbors together,” said Inglenook Neighborhood Association President Gwen Webb. “They’re working together for a common goal and that is improving their surroundings. When your neighborhood looks good, you just feel good.”
