On Saturday, Council President William Parker along with community leaders and volunteers partnered for a cleanup in the Inglenook neighborhood. Radio stations 95.7 Jamz and 98.7 Kiss FM were also on hand to assist in the efforts.
This cleanup is part of the ongoing mission of the Birmingham City Council to improve the quality of life in all of Birmingham’s 99 neighborhoods. There have been weekly cleanups happening for the last several months.
“Neighborhood cleanups are important because it brings the neighbors together,” said Inglenook Neighborhood Association President Gwen Webb. “They’re working together for a common goal and that is improving their surroundings. When your neighborhood looks good, you just feel good.”
