The coronavirus continues to raise questions and concerns as Alabama prepares for a new phase of the pandemic amid the vaccine rollout. Meanwhile, some medical experts are predicting that Jefferson County may double in COVID-19 cases between now and Christmas.
Council President William Parker has invited Dr. Celeste Reese-Willis back to tomorrow’s Birmingham City Council meeting to speak about those issues and more. Dr. Reese-Willis has been overseeing COVID-19 testing at Legion Field.
“We’ve seen a troubling trend over the last several weeks, with daily case numbers continuing to increase across our state,” Council President William Parker said. “We’re going to continue working with our medical professionals to increase testing throughout all of Birmingham’s 99 neighborhoods and to ensure equity in the vaccine distribution. I’m asking everyone to please continue adhering to the CDC’s guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
To schedule an appointment at Legion Field, please call (205) 543-2684 or go to drcelestec19.com to register online.
