The Utilities/Technology Committee reviews constituents’ complaints relative to existing utilities within the city limits and coordinates with utilities liaisons to bring about solutions.

The Utilities Committee also works closely with third-party assistance to help to coordinate services for indigent constituents. They also communicate with various entities during inclement weather to establish coordination of city services. The Committee develops relationships with utilities serving Birmingham residents to ensure an environment that is safe, healthy and prepared to encourage and manage economic and community development.

The technology portion of this committee recommends on matters pertaining to technology including but limited to advanced updates and software.
