The Economic Development & Tourism Committee Advises on Matters Regarding: Economic development strategy and incentives, Acquisition and disposal of real estate assets (i.e., surplus), City participation in multi-jurisdictional economic development projects
Committee Information
TASKS:
- Develops and maintains relations with various economic development and tourism entities such as but not limited to the Alabama Department of Commerce, Alabama Department of Tourism, Business Council of Alabama, Birmingham Business Alliance, Greater Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Birmingham Jefferson County Convention Center
- Recommend for appointments to the Industrial Development Board, Downtown Redevelopment Authority, and others
