JOIN US: District 5 Community Health Fair

This Friday, Birmingham City Councilor Darrell O’Quinn is bringing a free community health fair to the residents of District 5! Neighbors can join the District 5 team at Smithfield Court Community Center (150 Reverend Abraham Woods Junior Boulevard) on July 28th from 10:00am to 2:00pm for access to free health screenings, information, healthy food, and more. The event will also feature various community organizations and agencies including the Birmingham Housing Authority, Live Healthsmart Alabama Mobile Market, Childcare Resources and BirthWell Partners.

“I’m excited to partner with so many local, health-focused organizations to provide our D5 residents with access to the resources and screenings that they need to prioritize their health. We want to encourage as many people as possible to come by Smithfield Court Community Center this Friday so that they can get information, ask questions, and grab a healthy bite to eat. We know that access to healthcare and the information afforded by opportunities like this can significantly enhance a person’s quality of life,” said Councilor Darrell O’Quinn.

“Oftentimes, residents are unaware of the many healthcare resources that are available to them,” said HABD President and CEO Dontrelle Young Foster. “The Housing Authority of the Birmingham District believes quality housing and healthcare go hand-in-hand, and we’re proud to partner with Councilor O’Quinn in expanding free screenings and information to our residents.”
